GLORY OF THEIR TIMES
A 40-Year Baseball Odyssey
In the glorious mid-80s, beneath the unforgiving Texas sun, a group of young go-getters wiled away ungodly amounts of time on crappy rec fields, time they would all kill to get back now. Armed with cheap bats, gloves, and in varying states of dress, they would scratch their own chapter into the great canvas of baseball—a chapter that would be largely illegible, poorly organized, and shakily filmed. These are their stories.

The Players
Each man brought his own story to the diamond. Together, they formed something greater than themselves—a team, an esprit de corps, a legacy that would be forgotten by everyone, including most of the people in it. Which wasn't difficult, considering most contributed little beyond cursing, moonings and ball scratching.
Baseball is less a sport than a conspiracy to convince us that standing around is noble. And it works. Because standing around IS noble—when you convince yourself it means something.
